Cookie notice
Draft. This document is a working draft and has not been reviewed by a lawyer. It needs checking before the site or the app goes live.
Working draft. This notice must be updated the moment advertising or any third-party script is added, and a certified consent platform must be in place before ads are served to visitors in the EEA or the UK.
The short version
Right now this site sets no cookies at all. There is no login, no comment system, no social embed and no advertising. Analytics, if enabled, are cookie-free and aggregate.
That will change when advertising is switched on. This page will be updated at the same time, and the sections below describe what will apply then.
Categories
Strictly necessary. Needed for the site to work. Remembering your cookie choice itself, for example. These do not require consent.
Analytics. Currently provided cookie-free {{TODO: name the provider}}: page views are counted in aggregate, without cookies or cross-site identifiers, so no consent is required.
Advertising. {{TODO: this section applies only once AdSense is live. Delete it until then.}} Google AdSense and its partners may set cookies to measure and personalise advertising. In the EEA and the UK these are set only after you consent through the consent banner, which is provided by a Google-certified consent management platform. You can reopen the banner and change or withdraw your choice at any time using the link in the footer.
Managing cookies
Beyond the banner, every browser lets you block or delete cookies in its settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop parts of the site working; blocking the rest has no effect on the articles.
